First hint of a blush on my Weeping Santa Rosa plum. Also a photo showing (hopefully) how much bigger the new growth leaves are this spring compared to the older leaves.

Update: my cherry and peach set so much fruit I thinned tons and the trees still look loaded.

This is what it looks like AFTER thinning. I tried to just keep one fruit per spur. Some clusters on the peach were close to 20! It was ridiculous.

My photos don’t always post:

I literally have 4 Sweet Treat Pluerry fruit. Starting to lighten in color.

Still lightning green on the Flavor Grenade pluot.

Not a good photo as I was bringing them to my local coffee shop for the workers.

Arapaho thornless blackberries.

Easily the easiest and most problem free fruit / berry to grow down here.

The canes coming up for next year’s crops are seriously thick. I’ll be pruning often to keep it in bounds.

Made 2 half pints of mixed berry low sugar chia jam from berries harvested yesterday. We ate lots of them last evening… i made jam… and we still have some left over.

My golden kiwi flower

Is that a Sungold seedling or some other gold kiwi? Looks to be female, right?

It was purchased from “petal from the past” 10 yrs ago they called this “golden sunshine”

It’s probably hard to understand for many here how fascinating I find it that I have a pluot tree with a bunch of fruit on it.

I’ve lived in South Louisiana for almost all of my 60 years and, except for citrus, I’ve never seen anything other than an occasional pear tree with fruit on it around here.

The only plum or apple I’ve seen is in my own yard.

Bagged some fruit today. https://youtube.com/shorts/wrvf_6-Y-D0?si=dwVXurEC-0aDvVY0

It looked like the hard frost at the beginning of the month had taken out all my Green gage plums but … yay!

Early sour cherries are starting. The later ones will ripen about 5-7weeks from now.

And after today’s storm and hail, I picked any strawberries with a blush. Not sharing these with slugs by any chance…

Had to get the big platter out for todays harvest…

HR and JJ and Purple royalty raspberries… Climax blueberries, Obsidian blackberries, OT Black raspberries, surecrop strawberries.

Mmmmm good.

Another jam session coming up.

TNHunter, do you spray your raspberries? They always look so perfect. Ants and other insects damage many of mine.

@danzeb … no spray… never on my berries.

I have many that get damaged by birds, bugs… sometimes they will mess up one side… and I eat the other… while picking. Only the good ones go in the harvest.

I will be making 4 half pints of mixed berry jam later today… and we still have a big bowl of raspberries and blueberries left over.

Eat what you can… jam the rest.

McIntosh is getting big. About 1.5-1.75 inches in diameter. By far the largest of the apple so far in the season. From this tree.

Used the rest of my Organza bags on the few fruit I have…the exception being the FG pluot. I counted 67 fruit. I bagged 27 of the largest.

I knocked one off while tying the bag so for fun I took a bite. Interestingly I didn’t spit it out right away…I expected it to be so bitter I would do so. Astringent is probably the word I was looking for.

As I’ve stated, I’m really interested to see when they ripen for me.

Made 4 half pints of raspberry blackberry blueberry jam this evening… love that color.

Some of my elders are near 7ft tall now… just starting to bloom.

Whatever bees these are, they were out in impressive numbers today on the thyme flowers:

Avocados in the greenhouse are finally starting to look like they are serious about fruiting for the first time this year. Here is Walter Hole, which has set the most fruit (over a hundred, maybe a third already swelling this much):
