Final harvest of the pigeon peas. Probably 8-10 meals worth of peas off 5 trees. Chopped 2 feet off them after harvesting and planning on keeping them under 4 feet until its flowering season again.

Resolution sucks. There appears to be no control on upload quality on android phone.

A few more blossoms, mostly apples and the last of the pears.

The pink blossoms are Suncrisp apple. The tree was transplanted three years ago from a 2 year old potted bench graft. It’s well over 10ft tall now and full of blooms.

Rhubarb flowering - Victoria on the left and German Wine on the right. These are youngish crowns (from seed) and I know I should cut them off, but I’m tempted to keep them for the seed.

Anyone know if the flower stalk is edible if I cut them?

Everything is starting to bud out here, but the only thing that has leaves and flowers out are the haskaps/honeyberries.

Shows how valuable these plants are in a cold climate.

my indigo gem/ treat are still dormant. my rhubarb is pushing shoots though.

I don’t have those varieties.
The russian varieties seem to be the earliest, but last year I planted Aurora & Blue Banana, and they are just about to push out flowers as well.
So not far behind.
We’ve had an unusually warm spring here, so we’re at least 2-3 weeks ahead of what’s normal.

we are about 2 weeks ahead here as well. the indigos are the 1st to bloom / grow here then then aurora/ honeybee about a week later.

This is a Toka plum grafted branch. With the dense white flowers it would make a nice landscape tree.

Magnum Bonum - didn’t get a good picture of this but this one has flowers past petal fall and new buds. Not sure if it was the cold snap last week or it just has a long bloom period.

By far the best fruit set on my Weeping Santa Rosa plum. ~50 fruit.

My best year was 2 3 years ago at maybe 15 or so.

I went to add some varieties,to a General Hand.It seems like that’s all the tree was useful for, with only about two fruit in close to ten years.
Now,there are a bunch of these spent flowers, still hanging on.Maybe, this will be a continued occurrence.
