Can you guys tell me about the various trellis you have built over the years? I should put two in soon, one about 15 ft long for my brambles and one about 15 for my dwarf apples. I’ve got no real idea about what works and what doesn’t.
I am not going to go into a lot of detail but keep in mind that soil type and wind load are 2 big things to consider prior to construction. Sandy soil and areas prone to alot of wind over say 15mph are going to need deeper, stronger posts and heavier wire.
Here is a trellis I made for my apples. It is primarily used for faciltating limb management, but also secures the branches when bearing fruit.
