Can rosemary grow from seed in Z6 and produce a decent plant?

I understand rosemary won’t survive winters in Z6. If you grow from seed, planting in soil in early May, will you get anything decent that season?

There are multiple species with the common name “rosemary” and many cultivars of them.

You might be able to grow ARP if you grow it south facing and kinda sheltered. It’s usually really cheap at most garden centers

When I first planted my rosemary from the nursery (it was small) it barely did any growth 1st yr. So I doubt you would get much to harvest from seeds in 1 growing season unless you plant a lot of them.

I got rid of my ARP but kept my BBQ. Both had got huge to the point i was pushing my rosemary pruning on people so it didn’t go in the trash lol.

My suggestion would be plant an ARP early in spring if you can and see how it goes.
