Canning whole pears

I have a huge amount of Seckels this year.

I was wondering if it is possible to pressure can these as whole fruit. I don’t mind the skin or the seeds. If I try to peel and seed there would be little left to can not to mention the time and mess.

No doubt it’s possible. I’m not sure how appetizing the results would be…but in an extended power outage or other calamity…they might taste pretty good. (And if they cook up, you could strain them after you open the jars).

I eat the skin when I eat 'em raw. The pits, I’ll spit 'em out. I’ve had to spit out worse .

Last year I canned two 1/2 gallon jats. Took verrrry long prep time but they held up great under the canning hear. Stayed firm.

This year too many snd not enough time.

`I quartered my small Summercrisp pears and cut out the cores, then froze them. It went fairly quickly. They make great pear crisp. I imagine canning them you could do the same.
