I have eastern red cedars all over my property… and 5 apple varieties planted 15-30 feet from cedars.
Early mcintosh, akane, hudson golden gem and Novamac… get a few small red rust spots on the leaves… but show no harm from it.
Gold rush on the otherhand starts with small rusts spots and they develop into larger rust spots with black bullseye center. I have not seen it affect the fruit… only leaves so far.
