they do seem prone to that! Always growing and never thinking about how soon the Winter might be…Both our Dunstan and 5star Citrumelo got burned on their young growth the first Winter we tested them.

It is interesting I see the trifoliate more pronounced in your carolina lime. Mine shows no trifoliata yet. Maybe it happens with age? Same glossy foliage.

It happens more frequently on vigorous growth, as is the tendency with Thomasville actually! Our greenhouse tree put out a monstrous 4 ft shoot this Summer so I pruned a bit off for some grafts.
