Arrived today are the Mazzard cherry rootstock that I ordered from Burnt Ridge. Everything looks great but they are much longer than I anticipated. They are 3+ ft long and a solid half inch thick. Not an experienced grafter but I have some Mortmorency scions that I want to try. Should I cut back the rootstock to something like 12” or so?
