Chickasaw Plum from Chestnut Hill

Does anyone have personal experience with the Chickasaw Plums from Chestnut Hill Outdoors? They list that they’re grown from seed, but no mention of any named varieties they may be related to, although I gather that “varieties” are very loosely defined with Chickasaw plums. I would like to get my hands on a variety that’s good for fresh eating, but Chestnut Hill Outdoors tends to focus on the wildlife benefits of their trees rather than the qualities for human consumption in their marketing materials. We’ve been happy with our Dunstan chestnuts from them so I’m comfortable shopping with them again, and I like that these plums aren’t grafted on peach stock, but would love to hear personal experiences with their Chickasaws.

@marynaw For improved Chickasaw plums both Odom and Guthrie are worth trying to get. Also @coolmantoole knows a lot about Chickasaw plums/hybrids and might be able to sell you some or give you good advice.

The Chickasaw plums I have tasted have been way too tart for fresh eating. They made excellent jelly though. These were seedlings.
