About 35 F or 1 C this morning; I turned on the heat when the house dropped to 65 F or 19 C. But our experience here is that if we get through this snap without a freeze we may well be OK for a few weeks yet.

And while it may be hard on the basil and green beans my kale and new lettuce starts will love it!


I’ve noticed that even light frosts aren’t too harmful in the fall… it’s the hard freezes that melt stuff. Just looking at Missoula… it warms right back up and stays very mild (and very dry) right thru mid month. Maybe we’ll get a nice mild fall now right thru November.
