Looks delicious–especially on the cusp of winter! I see you like speckled lettuce, too!

It’s been 25 or colder every night this week, not that you can tell by the greens!

We have a rare snowstorm right now, but during this time of year, we have leeks, earth chestnut, dandelion, scorzonera, false dandelion, some salsify, NZ spinach, artichoke leaf (for soups), and curly mallow.

Tell us about Earth chestnuts .
Google search. … several different types .
Are they good . Etc.

I originally read about them as a tuber, which they are. I just eat the greens. I bought seed of them 20 years ago and I have eaten them since during the cold half of the year. All you can eat and I’ve never had to plant them again. They have slowly spread. They are one of the most reliable greens during this time of year in my climate at least. Mild flavor. Related to celery and carrots. I think I bought the seeds from Johnny’s in Maine.

Wonder if you know which type it is ?
Wikipedia shows two different plants , called Earth chestnuts.
Both in the carrot family , similar descriptions and uses.
Not seeing seeds available.
( Earth chestnut is a common name for several plants and may refer to:

Bunium bulbocastanum.
