Citron De Carmes pear aka Madeleine pear

Citron de carmes bloom time this year is overlapping kosui, small yellow pear, orcas, harrow sweet, harrow delight, clapps favorite, clara frijs to name a few. Pear tree on the left in the photo is citron de carmes. Today is 4/18/23

Did your citron de carmes blooms make it this year?

I am not sure. This and all other varieties are in bloom but somewhat heavy rain (all day) today is not helpful.

Bad news citron de carmes has heavy fireblight this year. Have grown it years with no problems.

We had 5 days of continuing rain from Mon to yesterday. The weather was cool. I am more concerned about blossom blast when it is cool and wet. It was not warm enough for fire blight in my area but you never know since it was raining during bloom time.

Not if you get fireblight there.
