Citrus varieties that can be brought indoors for winter

Is this your first year with your satsumas? If not, then when do they ripen for you? Before you have to bring them indoors?

Does your satsuma ripen all its fruit before you have to bring it indoors? And about when do you have to bring it indoors?

ya almost a full year now. the plants are obviously older than that. i only had 2 fruit hold from separate varieties. i made a post about that here:

my first citrus fruit, kimbrough satsuma: [image] [image] peeled and sectioned well. was basically insipid with a little sour on the front that dissipated. ill give it a break since its the first fruit produced on the tree. there is one more still on the small tree: [image] i also have one fruit on my owari: [image] my citrus have been brought in for the winter after spending a week or so in the garage because of low overnight temps and needing to find space for them.

basically i havent figured out when they are best or they arent able to produce their best fruit yet.

i bring it in in late sept. .the fruit ripens around xmas. mineolas about 2 weeks later.

Oh, that’s a little later than I was hoping for. I wonder if a 40 watt grow light would be enough for it to finish ripening its fruit if I can’t provide enough direct sun through a window. I also read there are earlier ripening satsuma varieties.
