Is the netting to prevent birds from getting all the fruit?

Is that an aluminum you’re using to hold up the netting? If so, what kind of wind can it withstand?

Last year the mourning doves became interested in the peaches and pluots, but oddly not the apricots or apriums. Later on, the crows decided the persimmons were fair game.
I tried to hire the mockingbirds to drive them away, using worm treat suet for payment. This worked ok for awhile but after mating season was over the mockingbirds left town.

Nice location! My moms crabapple did great and put on some growth.
I bet its an excellent pollinator too.

2025/11/30.
Here is the one fruit I allowed to mature on the young tree. Graph paper squares are 1".
The flavor is apple with overtones of sour and bitter. Overall I’d rate it very good. Janet says it’s a keeper.
