spray free and minor nothingness to each leaf with little black dots here and there at the very worst.

Diseases we know are not as big of an issue in Montana but i was curious have you seen any problems with the small yellow pear?
I’m too early to report anything other than my two grafted limbs are growing well with no issues. Frost/cold resistance would be a big deal in my area.
Mine is 4th year now. It has not shown sign of flower buds. However, it has suffered my indecisive pruning style last year and this year. That could be a major contributing factor of its unproductiveness.
No problems, Clark. I was hoping to see a spur or two this year but nothing yet. About the only disease issue I need to worry about would be fireblight, but haven’t seen any yet.
I’m excited to try the fruit, but it looks like it’ll be at least another year or two. Overall my pear is finally getting pretty fruitful, and I’ve left quite a bit on fruit on it to try to settle it down some - it does want to keep getting bigger!
Anyone having any luck growing these pears this year?
Looks like maybe next year.
I need to get on the list for scion this winter. I’d like to see how long they would take to fruit on my espalier pears. Grafts on those trees set parallel to the ground fruit quickly.
my one graft onto wild bradford rootstock put on 3 feet of growth. I’ll try to get pictures and the timeline of shipping based on messages from here.
How does this pear do with quince and ceder rust?
It has neither at my property
Each location might be different. None observed at my place.
I’m struggling with rust on all my varieties. Can I get a scion from one of you this winter?
Yes
This pear reminds me of the one I have. It’s called Petrivka. It was cultivated in Ukraine for ages and it is probably the most resistent pear as well as by far the earliest pear we have here. The only downside is it’s small size.
I feel like small size is a minor compromise for a home grower on fruit like pears. If someone told me that they had tiny wild blueberries that were the best tasting blueberries they ever tried, I would question whether they would be worth the effort.
For a pear, disease resistance, excellent taste and low maintenance is definitely worth the small size to me. That said, I am going to be looking to graft CSYP and Harrow Sweet to my existing trees for next year.
Anyone get fruit this year?
My seckel and Yoinashi both gave me none at all this year.
I might want to get a scion of your little yellow pear. I’d like to get pears on my 15 year old trees.
Though squirrels are a big part of my problem.

Anyone have fruit buds yet? Many people should get pears this year!
