Crossed Thai and Vietnamese hot peppers

I crossed several Thai and Vietnamese hot peppers last year and grew out some seeds last September in a pot. I now got 3 different shape hot peppers. Good trials with great hot peppers.

Slender and long size

Short but thick size and lighter color

I am continuing crossing each flower from this batch and will grow out these seeds in a few weeks in the green house. Little tiny paint brush helps to transfer pollens.

Interesting Tony. Good luck with the offspring! You may have a new cultivar(s) in the making. If you ever have seeds to share let us know, Randy/GA

Update,

I brought these Thai peppers crossed with Vietnamese peppers indoors growing the whole Winter while they were producing some peppers due to low sunlight by the South facing window. I bought them outdoor in May and now they are producing at a rapid pace. Let’s see how many years that I can keep them alive.

Update on my Vietnamese hot pepper crossed project with a few more hybrid varieties with a really good hot kick. I need to come up with some names for these hot ones.

Beautiful. Do they have different flavors or mostly just heat?

Each one has its own flavor but a really strong hot kick with first bite. It’s is better tasting than habanero.
