Has anyone heard of a apple variety called Custard?

“I found a Custard apple, perfect for open-faced apple pies with its spicy taste, holding its shape during cooking.”

At first I thought you were talking about an Annona, made me click. Maybe edit the title to add quotations with that indicating the variety to direct more people who will know the answer to it.

Their are several apples in Great Britain called costards, some going back to early medieval times. Easy to mispronounce over centuries, maybe one of these.
