It now looks like we’ll be in the low 70s on Friday, so I think I’ll find the time to get those scions cut tomorrow. From the low teens to the 70s in one week, yikes!

That’s prunus subhirtella, AKA autumn Flowering cherry.
It’s not unusual for them to throw a few blooms anywhere between late fall and early spring when it’s mild enough. They usually have a “final“ full bloom in early spring, before the Yoshino cherries.
