Cutting peach scions

I ordered a few peach rootstocks and am going to graft up a few contender trees for fun. A little different from apple trees apparently. My understanding is that where there are two buds, that’s fruit and not leaves so not good for grafting. Is that correct?

There are very few single bud nodes on the tree and the wood is/would be very thing so I’m not excited about those.

On older wood there are what appear to be dormant branch spurs. Should I use those?

I’d use the 1 year wood. Between the two big buds should be a small vegetative bud. And some of those buds look single vegetative.

Thanks so much. I was totally having brain fade and couldn’t think of the term vegetative. That picture is money.

Should I break off the flower buds or just wait?
