Two trees planted in 2019 never leafed out nor blossomed this spring. The branches were green under the wood, however. I finally looked at the roots of both and they were very dead. Since the top parts of the trees were still green, I decided to treat them like dormant wood and cut some scionwood. I’ve made several grafts onto new rootstock. In a few weeks, I’ll see if I was successful and the living rootstock has been able to push the buds to life.

Lost a bunch of blackberries this year as well. Strange year, isn’t it?
