Diagnosing an old crabapple (fire blight?)

Hoping someone can help me diagnose a disease on this old crabapple in my yard:

I suspect fire blight, but haven’t seen anything this extensive searching online. All of the main branches have large areas like this, so I’m considering just taking the whole tree down. I also recently planted a few apple trees nearby and worry about this spreading to them. What do you all think?

Thanks!

I’m not sure what to make of it exactly, but it doesn’t look like fire blight to me. I would expect sunken reddish sticky looking cankers in the newer infections from the previous year and blackened areas missing bark/cambium on older ones.
