I’m an arborist in training, but a relative novice in the world of fruit trees and am here to hopefully address a fundamental gap in my knowledge. I have a hard time differentiating between and properly identifying apple trees vs pears vs peaches when it’s winter time and there’s no fruit or leaves out. Can people help me clarify their differences through photos? Thanks so much, I’m new to this forum and glad to be here.
Tree form may help distinguish the other two. Pear trees tend to have a lot of lateral branches that grow close to vertical, while apple tree laterals are less vertical, although some varieties are known to go straight up as well.
