OK, lemme see:

16 varieties of apples (17 total trees)
5 var of pears
4 var of peaches
3 var of pluots
1 transplanted wild plum

8 varieties of raspberries
5 var of blackberries (9 total plants)
3 var of gooseberries
2 var of blueberries
2 var of strawberries (abt 60? total plants)
2 var of tart cherry bushes

Total of named varieties: 50

Excessive?

Maybe.

Just because I walk around the farm and look at some of the plants/trees at least once a day, even though it’s in the dead of winter, and it’s unlikely they’ve grown any?

Just because I was out there today dodging raindrops pulling down branches on some of the trees and moving cages around?

Just because I fret about the forecasts that may hurt my fruit crop for this year, am I obsessed?

Maybe.

Ask my wife or other family members the same questions about me and you probably know the answer…

Thanks, we are indeed very blessed to be able to grow these fruits and veggies in our gardens. It is always a learning experience, albeit sometimes a very frustrating one. But, being able to pick a ripe strawberry or tomato of our own is also very rewarding.

my time in the garden is special. it calms me n i think it makes me nicer to be around.
lately, i’ve been obsessed with figs.
not easy, since it’s too cold for them here.
wrapping them for winter is very had when they get big, but i get to have beautiful trees to dress up my garden on the treeless plains.
