Does anyone have photos of the early stages of black knot on plums?

I found this online. But what should you look for before this happens?

Does anyone have photos of the early stages of black knot on plums?

That is the early stage

Don’t remember what the black knot looked like when it started but I could take a picture of some Methley plum firewood if that would help.

Black Knot is terrible.

I saw this for the first time on my Methley plum last spring and wondered what the brown textured wood was. By summer I had learned what black knot is.

First picture is May 1, in my zone 6. Second picture is May 17. Both pictures may be farther along than what you are seeking.

Im afraid that first post labled early black knot is not true. By the time you see any visual signs of black knot it has already progressed well into its life cycle.

Hopefully we find something. I got lots of photos, but they are after it was years old. I didn’t know what it was until too late.

Here is early stage black knot on one of my Cherry Plums.
