Double Figs?

I noticed an interesting baby fig recently on a potted plant. At first, I thought that it was just 2 figs which were growing next to each other in a tight space. But, when I took a closer look, I only saw a single stem(the one you can see in the pic).

Anyone ever seen these before? Do they ripen normally, or generally have issues (like Peach doubles, which I just thin off)?

It will ripen. Bob, did your BM cuttings that you bought from fruit woods I think, rooted for you?

This does happen. They usually ripen ok, IIRC.

Thanks! Good to know. I guess I haven’t grown enough to see this before.

I don’t think I got anything with that acronym from them.

Do you mean Black Madeira? I did get Madeira Island Black from Drew and I think I had 1 take, though it hasn’t grown that much yet.

I was re-potting my 1 gal figs today (I did 10 of the 15) and came across the Madeira Island Black. No fruit yet…
