Drip irrigation planning: How much water do muscadines need compared to figs?

The time has come to install my irrigation system. I will have 28 fig trees and 14 muscadine varieties on the same irrigation system (one valve will turn on the water for everything). I will be using the same elevated drip system that Isons and Figaholics uses, with two Bowsmith non stop emitters per plant.

This means I need to put a higher GPH emitter on the muscadines. I know they need more water, I just don’t know HOW much more. For instance, I could put 0.5 GPH emitters on the Figs, and then I could put 1.0 GPH emitters on the muscadines. Or should the gap be even higher? The options are 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 GPH.

Good question — I haven’t grown muscadines myself, but starting with 1.0 GPH on them and 0.5 on the figs seems like a sensible middle ground. With two emitters per plant you can always swap up to 2.0 later if the muscadines dry out faster. Curious to hear what the experienced growers here recommend!
