Any thoughts on what is going on with this honeyberry stem? The leaves are drying up along the entire length of just one stem. The rest of the bush seems fine. I don’t see any physical damage.
Should I cut it off? Wait to see if it leafs out again?

Id cut it close to the main plant, chop it into a few pieces and see if there is any borer damage inside. I havent heard of any insects that target honeyberry, but my raspberries do the same when they get wasp maggots in them. Dispose of the branch properly and hope it dosnt happen to any others I guess. BTW what variety is this?
Check if the wilting branch has red bumps on it. If yes - it is fungus, name of which I can’t find on English sites, but have info from Russian sites. Cut all affected branches, apply copper spray next spring after it blooms.
It is Borealis. I didn’t notice any bumps but I’ll double check it again. I’ll see if I can find anything boring inside as well.
Thanks!
Trimmed it off. Didn’t see any fungus or borers. Just the wilted and drying leaves.
