After a bad start last year with so little water to offer, my argutas are looking pretty good right now following a miserly El Nino season. I have two approaching their horizontal wires and I’m wondering whether to just let them alone this year to help develop the root system (could backfire with too many leaves to support and too little water…) or whether I should let them get maybe a foot or so beyond the wire and then cut them back and hope for the beginnings of some lateral growth. Suggestions?
