Strawberry plugs are usually produced from tips supplied from Canada. Unfortunately, much of the production is infected with disease. Orders are being cancelled. Both the nursery growers and fruit producers are hit hard it seems in VA, NC, and SC. Perhaps other areas as well and also, I would expect retail sellers like Stark that source their material from Canda would also be short on plants this fall.

I wonder if this will affect our winter strawberries. The town I live in (Plant City) big commercial crop is winter strawberries, and they should be going in the ground soon (usually early to mid September unless theres a hurricane at those times).
There’s quite a bit of info around in the last two weeks about where this disease will have the biggest impact. California does not have it so plants from there will be ok. Georgia and Florida will be affected. Here’s a bit more in depth article from Georgia.
