First time I got excellent fruit sets on my young avocado tree composed of a collection of cold hardiest avocado cultivars on one tree. The A & B flowering types got a nice bloom overlap and with presence of bees produced excellent fruit sets that so far hasn’t fallen off. The A&B flowering types are only useful when the tree is young but when a tree of single cultivar becomes too big, different sections of canopy would have different types of flowers and will set fruits. But still, having multigrafts of different cultivars would encourage more fruit sets than a single cultivar tree.
As for my tree, the real test would be the heat waves of summer. Hoping to get at least one fruit to maturity!
