Experience with, "night guard" solar powered as deer repellant?

Upon closer inspection last winter we had a Ton of deer tip damage to our fruit trees. Definitely deer from tracks, plus moose would’ve done way more damage.

Short research flashing solar powered lights supposed to somewhat mimic predator eyes supposed to spook them.

Anyone had success with these? Really a next winter question, thanks.

I’ve seen random houses with them. I’m doubtful, but would love to hear someone say they work great.

I have known people with the ultrasonic versions but they clearly failed given the state of their nearby shrubs. Suburban deer are not nearly as flighty but just as ravenous.

When I bought my house there was one of those ultrasonic ones left behind. Worthless.

Im one of those weirdos who can hear them. So they annoy me plenty more than they do the deer. I remember seeing some scented zappers. I wonder how effective they are in the long run.

I have the ones that look like predator eyes and the deer are completely unaffected by them.

ive had an idea for a while, now that drones are so inexpensive, that would patrol your property. no super high flying, and would stay within its set range. wouldnt even have to be that big. it could charge itself on its pad during the day. not sure what the deterrent would be. perhaps just playing crazy sounds. flashing lights. maybe just the hum of the props would scare things like rabbits and deer away. its really not that far off.

Most likely good for a few zaps, but eventually they will learn to leave it alone.

That looks like it has potential, thanks.
