I see occasional mention of named feijoa cultivars, mostly in catalogs, mostly marked “sold out.” I also see a lot of seedlings for sale, cheaply. Are the cultivars enough of an improvement over the seedlings that I should find some and pay extra for them?

This is the wrong time of year to plant Feijoa. Check the catalogs during Spring-Summer.
Check online nurseries weekly or monthly and jump on any cultivars that become in-stock.
