The Virginia Tech Spray schedule recommends Esfenvalerate .425% for pome and stone fruits at a rate of 2-4 Tbs per gal. I bought Fenvastar Plus 8.4% last year and have not used it yet. Has anybody on here used it? If so, how much per gallon? Product label is not helpful and my math is not so good. I came up with something like .1 Tbs per 1 gal.
thanks.
I don’t know if the two products are the same but just based on the numbers you give, yes the math works out to 2-4 TBS per gal converts to .1 to .2 Tbs per gal for the higher concentration 8.4% product.
From what I’ve seen online shows 0.42 - 0.83 oz. per gallon
For use on fruit trees or killing bugs in crevices? I don’t see any recommendations for using Fenvastar Plus 8.4% on fruit trees.
A similar product that does have stone fruit recommendations (ASANA) lists .02 to .058 oz per gal and has limits on amount per acre.
Anybody spraying insecticides should read labels carefully.
You are right to always read labels carefully. I have not used this before but saw it listed on Penn State’s website as a recommended pesticide for stone fruit so I figured I’d look up the mixture rate and help out. Sorry if I caused any confusion.
Here is the Asana label. I don’t know if it is identical to Fenvastar Plus 8.4% (different inert ingredients?)
Read through the label again and it looks like it’s a no go. Says not to use on plants grown for food or feed. I will use something else. Thanks for the input.
