They were delayed for 3 days, I’m pretty sure it isn’t the sellers fault but I did hydrate them and I’m just hoping they look a bit more lively tomorrow
If the seller is at fault I’m probably a bit to blame too for not researching them better. I got them through Amazon and they were shipped shortly after I ordered but I think because Amazon kept changing the delivery date it was really rough on the poor little guys. I got a full refund from Amazon but was told to keep the trees so I want to give them a chance after everything they went through to get here.

How can you tell the difference? I was under the impression that they were saplings honestly.

A fact about TC figs – it can take years for them to produce unless they are raised outdoors 24/7 year-round.
What you are looking for are shipped in at least 1 gallon pots and have a trunk diameter of at least 3/8" and 2 feet of lignified height.

Yeah, I would prefer to start with cuttings or cutting grown plants any day, rather than wait an extra 2-4 yrs for a tissue culture plant to fruit. So in a way, them getting beat up in transit may have saved you a few years of annoyance

The seller must have advertised tissue culture? Those plants are the worst. The one Tissue culture plant I got was way better than that and took 6years to fruit. I would return those and look elsewhere for your plants in the future. What varieties are they? I can send you some cuttings actually worth growing, let me know what you are looking for.

At this stage, she needs robust plants. Cuttings can come later with more experience.

They were just advertised as “Fig tree collection(4 pack) Edible fruit plant from our optimal picks, etc” I really didn’t expect them to come in such rough shape considering most of the reviews had very healthy and larger looking trees.
You are probably right about me needing more robust plants. Normally I’d like to see them in person but a lot of our local greenhouses closed recently
There are several online sellers of robust fruit trees. One Green World is a good choice. Other experienced members will likely provide you with a few others. Then of course we’re going to have some agreements and disagreements about which ones you should avoid

Just kidding of course. I think anyone who has visited ourfigs knows 1, many in the fig community are kind, generous people who would rather give away cuttings than sell.

3 many like to be the consummate expert on anything.
While you may have a pleasant interaction with any of the three kinds, they can’t stand each other it seems. And no two people in cat 3 like each other😂

I can believe a lot given the fighting on certain issues, varieties.
That said, I did join the site recently because I do believe there are a lot of good faith people giving valuable info, a lot of anecdotes from similar climates etc. I’d say it’s mostly good. I did see enough value there to join after all.
Of course we also have to realize, internet communities, like all communities, have all different kinds of people. I’m sure y’all’s local communities are like that too. There’s always the pathological liar who is otherwise a nice guy, you just don’t believe him without proof, you’ve got the crazy one all up in yo business but can run their own, the know it all who is never wrong, no matter the evidence. I guess Internet forums are a bit like attending your wife or girlfriend’s family reunion for the first time. You only kinda know who’s who, but all kinds are represented.
