Figs leafing out under cover

I covered my vdb and Celeste figs with row cover before a hard freeze we had a couple of weeks ago. I left the covers on since then. When I took them off yesterday ahead of 70+ degree weather is noticed that they are starting to leaf out. This does not seem like a positive development. Anyone else had this happen?

Mine will start leaving out when the weather warms up for a few days then go back dormant. It has never seemed to hurt it. My big tree is over 50 years old and I never do anything to it. It stays loaded every year.

Good to know, thanks. I’m a greenhorn.
