This is the first week to see apricots in bloom, and now the pear is getting ready; the apple is trying to leaf out, but plums are still pretty quiet.
We took the trailer to the city compost facility and paid $26.00 for a yard- I’d be surprised if we didn’t end up with half again that amount. The guy with the front loader was in a good mood, I think! Beautiful stuff, too. I spent yesterday afternoon turning it into the garden, and Ma is side dressing everything she can reach!

Oh you’re so lucky you have someone to front load it for you! Our municipal site offers free compost but you must shovel yourself. I am sore today from doing 2 pickup bed fulls for turning a portion of the yard to garden beds, but it is worth it. It is black gold! Still wish they’d load it for me but they say liability issues.

Free is nice, but I’ll wager you were willing you’d pay the $26.00 to avoid it!
