Fire blight help

I have a Shinseiki tree, probably on its 6th year. I found two limbs that were suddenly dark black in color, and in panic, I decided to cut them. I don’t know if it’s too early for fire blight to begin here in Massachusetts, but I didn’t want to take any chances. I didn’t cut back to the main trunk, maybe I should. there’s a dark spot, on the inside of the branch in this photo, is that what fire blight looks like within the branch. is that how it travels ?

Looks like another hot spot to me. I think you might need to lose that limb.

I think you’re the 3rd person to report fireblight issues with Shinseiki on here in under a week.

@sps46 thats terrible. I think you’re right it’s obviously better to sacrifice a limb than the entire tree.
