First Grafts of 2017

Been having nice weather here in the Salt Lake City area. Way above average temperatures this week and it should continue into next week. So I tried a couple grafts from a Seckel scion I cut today from one pear to put onto a couple other pears. The scion has no bud movement, so I thought, “What the heck? It’s a pear and they’re super forgiving!” I think I’ll do a Late Transparent plum that’s been sitting in the fridge a little while now. The only buds that are moving on my Euro plum are on the Empress, so I’ll try grafting onto that.
