Hi all. Yesterday was an adventure in lemons. 13 lemons! Made my first Lemon Tarte and boy is it sweet but very tart and really good. There is a reason to have a lemon tree and this is it!
Yummy!
You make me wish I was a dentist. It does look good. My wife and I are borderline diabetic and can’t eat anything like that. Our lemon tee produces low sugar low acid lemons wee eat out of hand
Looks good! Did you find the fresh juice is much tastier than commercial? I’m just surprised you didn’t use any zest.
Our fave here is a lemon square that is a custard over a shortbread crust. I use 2-3X the called for zest. I would love to have homegrown to use!
( our Lee Valley microplane zester is still going strong 15+ years later)
my grandmother loved lemon tarts. when she was in the nursing home, i used to make one and bring her a few slices. she made them herself until she was 92. i can smell your tart from here MrsG!
I used 3 tablespoons of zest. Yes the taste is incredible. A taste that cannot be found in a bottle.
Splenda
So glad you make them too! Aren’t they good? Yes they are!
im sure they taste so much better with fresh lemon. once my potted calamondin gives me enough fruit, ill try making it with them. it should still be good.
Probably more carbs in a teaspoon of that than I normally eat daily. I am sure it would be a wonderful teaspoon full though.
If you like to cook with lemons, this book is a must. Her lemon pie is simply on a league on its own.

Fabulous and thanks, Marc!
Looks fantastic! Lemon desserts are some of my favorites.
