Looks like a lot of stuff to enjoy. Good size tree, well taking care of. Need a dozen more like that one.

what do you use for soil? mine dont look half as good. many misshaped miscolored leaves.

3 parts pine bark mulch, 2 parts compost from leaves and greens from compost pile, 1 part Perlite.

@poncirusguy Steve, am I correct in saying that you do not find that mix too water retentive? With all of that compost, I would thing it would be very retentive.
Beautiful tree. Nice job growing it!

thats the problem. i cant get bark fines here and good compost takes 3 yrs in my cold environment. i bought/ potted up some citrus soil from amazon made by Miricle grow . , they have put out new leaves that look normal… not impressed with the texture of it but so far has done wonders.

In the summer the soil take about 5 days to dry out at 90F and 10 days at 80F. At 65F to 70F (winter) it takes over a month. I use a vacuum to pull fresh air through the roots and eliminate the perched water table.

I use plane pine bark mulch and I break up the larger pieces by hand. Takes about an hour. I use the pine bark out of the bag dry. The compost holds all the water needed. I can’t buy pine shreds either.
