Has the heat wave impacted local produce yet?
Nope!

You were hosting a party?
I had some interesting prunus while I was there. Can’t remember exactly what but my it was tasty. Local cantaloupes were amazing. Loquats were a first one for me there and I really enjoyed those. I also found really high quality imported things such as Indonesian Salak, red currants, pineberries, Peruvian gooseberry, yellow Israeli dragonfruit and those were all new to me. The others two suprises for me were these super tiny alpine strawberries that were the best strawberries I’d ever had and also the early figs which have green skin and are amazing. There was also a feral type of passion fruit that I didn’t eat cuz my hosts said it was not edible but it was the red flesh type. In Amalfi there was lots of citrus that I didn’t get around to eating. Overall Italy and Tuscany is great for fruits. I want to visit Umbria to see the lady who collects all the forgotten varieties. Yes, I gave it in honor of my dear friend and hostess.
