My in-laws have these 2 trees growing on the edge of their pasture. My father in law says he thinks they are plum trees. He said they were already here when they bought the farm in 1986. Just curious if anyone might have a clue to what they are? The fruits are small but juicy and sweet.

Maybe some type of cherry plum,Prunus cerasifera.

It looks a bit like Hanska, but Hanska tends to be more tart than sweet, and the flesh on yours looks a bit brighter too.
There were several sand cherry/plum hybrids that came out of South Dakota State University in the early 1900’s besides just Hanska though. Maybe it’s one of those which would be a pretty cool find if it was.
