Fruits, Flowers and Buds- 2026 edition

Found this on a graft of Montmorency that I added to my Lapins a few years back.

One stem… 2 cherries.

Poor lighting (copious rain the past week).

My happiest few Errante Noir vines

Raspberry Glow mountain laurel in bloom. Rain is trying to ruin it, but the closed buds are arguably prettier than open.

These photos of this watermelon are only 24 hours apart.

We are going to have a LOT of Seminole pumpkins.

Hn my gus melquist has set 1 fruit. The only other thing flowering at that time was my cutie pie bush cherry.

Anyone think it either is really limited self fertility or happened to cross pollenate? There were a really high density of blooms

Monkey Tail doing its thing. Hasn’t minded the 14.5 inches of rain I’ve gotten this month.

Cayman Islands, mango fruits from a local tree. Some store bought fruits might have a higher brix when fully ripe, but nothing beats flavor and aroma of local mangoes.

First raspberry and strawberries of the year today!
I painted some rocks red to hopefully ḥave them squirrels mad.

There were a couple more Strawberries but we started snogging them before I thought of a picture!

Was beyond excited to see 15 mostly ripe cherries on the Carmine Jewel I moved to a family house this spring. This 3’ bush was new potted last spring, planted in summer, moved in fall and moved again this spring and looks super healthy and had great, tart cherries! Equally impressive was that the super fast chicken wire/netting protection 3 months ago has withstood the ravenous deer. Here’s to a nice long life in this spot and no more moves.
