When is the correct time to fertilize garlic?
i fertilize, plant then mulch in fall about 2 weeks before a hard freeze. early oct here in z4. i use organic ferts. you could probably get away with fertilizing with syn. ferts in early spring.

Keene’s sugests weekly between when the shoots start to emerge until the scapes start to form. This is my first year actually growing any intentionally, so I have no direct data to share yet. Remember you want to feed the roots, not the foliage, to get good bulbs.
