Garlic yellowing

One variety (Western Rose) is yellowing some.

Music looks fine. What gives? Any issue to worry about?

That happens routinely for me. I suspect it isn’t a problem, but it would be great if someone knows more. Thanks for asking the question!

That looks like thrip damage to me in the second picture. I’ve never had them bad enough to worry about, but I’ve heard it can set things back.
The first picture just looks like normal yellowing of the first leaves. I used to worry about it, but my garlic was always bigger than anyone else I saw harvest, so I stopped worrying about it.

mine did that last summer and it was N deficiency. i didn’t realize it until they were worse than yours. had a crop of small garlic. amended with a lot of composted chic manure last fall. should be good this summer. can’t stand not having a good crop of garlic to use.

I put some Miracle Gro on them today. Not my usual fare, but it’s all I have on hand.
