Can all you persimmon experts tell me if Hana fuyu is the same as Giant Fuyu. Thx
It is supposed to be the same. Also called Yotsundani.

Asked the same question a few years ago and never got an answer. Some nurseries sell both of them. I’d be interested to know the answer myself.

Apparently they are the same. A lot of conflicting info out there. I asked AI and was told me they are different. Then I asked again and I was told me they are the same.
Most of the descriptions I find say the Giant Fuyu is larger, more round, and ripens earlier than Fuyu. I have both but the Giant is too young to tell so far..

That was the info given by AI. Then when I asked again, AI says that they are effectively the same.
Most of the persimmon varieties that I search for that are not common ,AI informs me that I am just an idiot that misspelled the name or have mistaken it for some common variety.
So far in my searches AI has been only an irritant getting in the way of finding correct information.

AI has it’s usefulness at times but I find that it gets a lot of things wrong. I am always challenging it. It’s funny that Musk thinks that robots will replace surgeons soon. Can you imagine in the middle of surgery, the bot swings it arms and blurts out “malfunction, malfunction” ?
