There are the gingko nuts I collected today from the road. I took a stick with me but it was too short!!! Pity these are not pistachios
You can roast them. eat 10-20pcs per day should be OK for a adult .
thanks! I will remember. We normally boiled them in a sweet soup with quailâs eggs and bean curd pieces.
When I was working in the hort dept. in college, a loooong time ago, one of my jobs was to pick up dropped ginko berries for a street tree breeding program. Those berries smelled like fresh vomit and the smell wouldnât wash off with even gasoline. Donât want no ginkosâŚno thanks.
Yes, the pulp smells disgusting indeed! The nuts itself when cooked is rather tasty
My wife gives this same treatment too!
IL847,
What temp and how long? I read somewhere that gingko nuts are slightly poisonous so one should never over consumed them. A hot bowl of âŚ
⌠really round out a hard and cold day!
But I donât like to process them either. It smells as Chikn put it:
Yuck!

Not sure if it smells like vomit. The pulp just smells disgusting. They contain alkaloids and nuts must not be eaten raw. Though when we were growing up, we were never told about this. We would crack the nuts with a hammer then make soak to remove the skin and cook the sweet soup which is really nice when refrigerated
Everyone in my family love that sweet soup, even my ABCâŚ

My girlfriend in college met me for a date and said, âDid you toss lunch?â After that start she decided she wasnât a fan of âhorticultureâ. I needed the job more than I needed her so that was that. Yaâll can still keep Gingko nuts!
