I don’t have any hummingbirds yet but I do have a big butterfly and a red wasp that stopped by to help out.
The AU Cherry is in full bloom and my other varieties have dropped almost all their petals. Which variety if any will survive the upcoming cold spell?
Red wasps are the most beneficial in my garden. They eat a ton of pests straight off the fruit trees, often pollinate flowers, and generally are unlikely to sting even if the nest is disturbed.
Have the wasps and carpenter bees helping. Lots of tiny beetles and flies as well. Honey bees will be back after the Blueberry farms are done.
My honeybees are going gangbusters daily. Pears are even being regularly foraged.
My blueberry blooms are being worked on by both big and medium size bumblebees right now. At times they seem aggressive toward each other. They don’t bother me and I don’t mess with them.
Anyone have any ground nesting bees? https://www.gnbee.org/
A few Honeybees were working over the Centurion Crab and trying to open the buds emerging on Parks Pippin today.
