Has anyone ever heard of the variety Golden Delgiht? It seems to be a selection made by Klyn Nursery here in Ohio.
Anyways I bought 2 locally and was wondering if anyone knew when it ripened. Their description says earlier then native varieties. I don’t have any persimmons fruiting yet to base this off of. If anyone were to venture a guess, when does earlier mean?
It’s silly, but I am trying to put my trees in order of when they ripen.
Large, sweet and tasty fruits ripen earlier than the species. The plant was selected at Klyn Nurseries for its early ripening and tasty fruits that are almost double the average size of most native persimmons. Selected from a native eastern species.
Same kind of story and ripening time as Early Golden which was found in the 1800s.
I dont see any legit trademark names of a persimmon called Golden Delight… but maybe there is one somewhere.
I don’t have the trees planted at my property to check on them, but tht one tree was about 5’ tall. There’s a chance it could fruit next year, fingers crossed.
I’m sure it’s nothing special, but I can try to compare to early golden .
