I grafted a maxie asian pear scion to an existing asian pear tree I have last spring about this time of year. That graft has bloomed and seems to be holding onto a couple pieces of fruit. Is the graft usually strong enough after a year to hold any fruit?
Depends on how much the it has thickened at the union, what angle it is, and how much weight it will end up on it.
